You may wonder, why Al Noor Charity has launched a Radio station when there is so much work to be done in areas of basic necessities i.e waterwells, orphans, madrasas, etc. At Al Noor we think its critical to pass on knowledge and build a community spirit based on principles of Islam.
Radio plays a big part in achieving all our goals. Information and communication are located at the very core of poverty alleviation processes, from processes of community participation and empowerment, to raising broad awareness of health & education issues, to providing knowledge about Islam.
The radio station is powerful to broadcast and cover Zanzibar & Pemba Islands, Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanga, and with a plan to hopefully reach the whole coast of Tanzania. The Guiding Principles of Al Noor’s Islamic Radio Station is to promote the love of Allah and the appreciation of the beauty of his creation through the guidance of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and reaping the fruits of following him.
The Islamic radio station —AL Noor 92.6 FM Radio Station in Zanzibar has been operational from June 2009. Islam FM radio station is located at Al Noor head office, a two storey building where the ground floor is a Masjid for a 1,000 people and the upper floor houses Al Noor charitable agency for the needy head office and the Al Noor 92.6 FM.
